As
Cambodians are particularly motivated to learn foreign languages,
particularly English, combined with the fact that most signage is
bilingual almost everywhere in Cambodia, speaking Khmer is not a real
necessity for people expatriated in Cambodia.
Nevertheless, learning Khmer is an indisputable plus in order to enhance
the general quality of everyday relationship with Cambodians, especially
with the seniors and especially out of the main tourist zones…Well:
in the “real Cambodia”!
